Painting the Tommy stencil was actually much more difficult then first thought. The designer of the show only used white spray paint in her model box to create the stary look to the Tommy logo, however when we went about painting the logo we rolled white paint on first. This i feel was a bit of waster of time as we spent most of the time going over the white white with black in the spray gun, so I'm a bit unsure why we used the white step, as I feel it would have been quicker to create the logo using just a white spray gun and then maybe going in with some darker tones if it was need. Anyhoo, in the end all was well and the logo looks great!

Tommy
Even though I have been in my elective props for the last 4 weeks, I still have been venturing into my favourite place ... scenic! I was a bit gutted when I found out I wouldn't be working on Tommy as the way my timetable fell I was in props whilst the majority of the Musical Theatre prodctuion was being painted. However, the saying 'if you don't ask, you don't get' is so true as I asked Martin (head of props) if i could pop into scenic for some of the paint calls because I really wanted to use the spray gun on the back of the Atheneum stage wall.
