I am so so happy that I went into SLS (Spiers Lock Studios') during bridge week, I think if I hadn't this week would have been manic!
We had 4 first year Applied Art students with us for a couple of days so all the extra hands helped! This week we had two big tasks:paint the main house and the funny red things which go inside the opening tower. Other tasks this week included painting the triangle treads bright pink, touching up the glitter on the front wall and painting the doors for the 2 Up Stage Towers.

Jude and Rosé did an amazing and quick job on the main house (I can't believe how quick they painted it!) but oh god I was bit annoyed that it was left laying in construction for the past week and we could of started to paint it earlier, although I guess I should have asked Matt or Simon if it was ready. The pink colour for the treads was exceptionally hard to colour match, I even had to get Gary to help me as it just wasn't vibrant enough - in the end we just went with the closet colour we could get!

Thursday was a big day for us, the floor got fitted! So Jude went down in the morning to make sure it went smoothly, thankfully it did, the only problem was that there was a just one weird blue on the Up Stage Right side which we managed to patch up pretty well! Also on Thursday we had the van run, so everything had to go down the road - eep thats mostly everthing major done!

What I have found exceptionally hard this week is finding enough jobs for everyone. Even though there are so many itty bitty bits to get finished I wanted to put the 2nd years and 3rd years on the more challenging tasks but then I kept on thinking that the first years are may be getting bored of doing all the rubbish jobs (I genuinely want them to have a fun and good time) and I think I was getting rather flustered when I had nothing for the first years to do!
What I have learnt this week is that I always need to be (I thought I was already!) like a millions steps ahead of the game, and I need to keep calm so I don't get flustered. Also I learnt that sometimes you just need to go ahead with your initiative - this week construction told me things weren't ready to paint, but we couldn't just hang around and wait, so Gary suggested at this point so close to the fit up week. Bring on next week!
