So just chilling watching Project X (the film about 3 school high school seniors that throw a birthday party that spirals out of control) I'm laughing and also being depressed that I am almost finished Uni and the chances of going to a wild party again getting slimmer by the day. Anyways halfway during the film my dad comes in and says I'm listening to Radio 4 and suggests that I should come into the kitchen to listen. Reluctantly I twaddle into the kitchen to listen to some documentary and it turns out to be really interesting.
Every weekday at 7.15 on Radio BBC 4 there is programme aired called 'Front Row' which the presenters John Wilson, Kirsty Lang and Mark Lawson talk to leading people in the arts, theatre, literature, film, media and music. This week Kirsty Lang talked to creatives behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing, Downton Abbey and the Olympics. It's well worth listen if you have ever wanted to know what it's like behind the scenes in the television industry (link to Front Row - BBC Radio 4)
I particularly liked listing to the interview with lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe (Rolling Stones favourite lighting designer since 1982!) and his anecdote about the 2012 London Olympic Games when the big orange Olympic rings almost didn't light up an hour before the ceremony and the TSM where up there blow drying the sockets!
I went back to watching Project X with my sister Kat and my brother Alastair, even though that was an epic party in the film ... hopefully one day I will be doing things behind the scene, painting something that will be truly epic.
