Murals in interior design

Today everyone likes to have a nice interior, so it isn't surprising that having a hand painted mural in your home or hip restaurant is back in vogue. Think of the feature wall, its normally some really nice wall paper, a bold colour or more recently something really eye catching. This craze is something I'm really interested in, why do people want them? Who is likely to buy them and how much do they cost? How do you go about painting one?

There are many different styles of murals in interior design, some are really eye catching like a traditional Tompe L'oeil, in many cosmpolitan bars and restraunt murals are done in a street art theme, and in numerous homes murals on features walls can be painted like wallpaper.

When doing some research I found a Glasgow based muralist, Rosie McNamara click here for her website. Here prices vary but on average its £200 a day for a mural. I really like this trompe l'oeil mural she has done for a client!:

However, for my specialist research project I want to mainly look at hand painted wall paper. Recently, Gary (one of my lecturers) was showing us a design website (http://www.designsponge.com/) and a Glasgow based company, Flower and the Wall, specialisng in hand painted wallpaper was featured. There stuff looks amazing  click here for the website
